Disney Plus original, Moon Knight has made a clean sweep of the TV demand charts, coming in 27.79 points above average in Australia and 24.75 points in New Zealand.
The six-episode Marvel series has knocked HBO Max’s original Our Flag Means Death out of its top spot after many weeks at #1. Marvel fans have been spoiled for choice recently, as the biggest movie of 2022, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, premiered across Australia on May 6. There has been no official confirmation of a second season of Moon Knight.
Our Flag Means Death remains at #2 across the board, placing 26.65 points above the market average in Australia and 22.12 points in New Zealand. Six weeks after the season one finale, Our Flag Means Death fans have started renewal initiatives in hopes of prompting a second season. Some of the campaigns include sending custom postcards, a message in a bottle, and a charity fundraiser.
Battling it out for third place is Ozark and Outlander, with Ozark winning third in Australia (24.53) and New Zealand’s (19.47) digital originals, while Outlander claims the bronze in Australia (24.91) and New Zealand’s (20.41) overall TV shows.
Last month, Netflix’s Ozark came to an end after four seasons, as showrunner Chris Mundy spoke to TVLine about his future plans for the series, noting that a spinoff is in demand.
Outlander has been confirmed for a seventh season, which will be twice the length of season six at 16 episodes.
Stranger Things has placed fourth in Australia’s digital original series with 22.16 points above market average, ahead of its season four premiere later this month. Netflix’s Bridgerton has fallen a few places from last week, ranking seventh in Australia and eighth in New Zealand’s digital originals, while The Voice AU placed eighth in Australia’s overall TV shows.
