A repeat of Hard Quiz: Celebrity Special was the top non-news program on total TV, increasing by 7% for a total audience of 704,000 for ABC. Additionally, QI increased by 15% to reach 513,000.
Lifting 67% was the FIFA World Cup semi-final between Argentina and Croatia on SBS, which saw Argentina take the win 3-0, to reach a total audience of 690,000.
9Now’s Love Island Australia lifted 589% to reach 310,000 viewers.

Seven has claimed a Wednesday night win, topping the network shares with 28.3% and the primary channel shares with 20%. 9Gem topped multichannels with a 4.8% share.
On Seven, The Chase Australia topped non-news with 437,000, while the Big Bash League brought in 311,000. In Wednesday night’s game, the Melbourne Renegades took on Brisbane Heat, winning by four wickets with four balls remaining as Brisbane’s Michael Neser bagged a hat trick.
Nine’s A Current Affair met with a woman who once dated Ashley Gaddie, the man charged with the murder of Sydney teacher Dannielle Finlay-Jones, reaching 500,000. Earlier in the evening, Hot Seat clocked 334,000, followed by Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze with 266,000.
ABC claimed the top two spots in non-news with Mad as Hell does Hard Quiz (458,000) and The Yearly with Charlie Pickering 2022 (443,000). Mad as Hell does Hard Quiz saw Tom Gleeson perform a Christmas miracle by reuniting Shaun Micallef’s cast with Christie Whelan Browne, Tosh Greenslade, Emily Taheny and Francis Greenslade battling it out for the Big Brass Mug.
Later in the evening, Charlie Pickering came back to wrap up 2022 with a lineup of stars, including Margaret Pomeranz, Roy and HG, Tony Armstrong, Gabbi Bolt and Andy Zaltzman, who answered the year’s big questions.
On 10, a repeat of The Dog House Australia was the network’s top program with 232,000. The Project (164,000 6:30pm / 225,000 7pm) met with human rights activist and artist Badiucao to discuss Penny Wong’s visit to China and what this mean’s for Australia and China’s relationship.
The Toys that Built the World on SBS was the network’s top program, reaching 106,000.
