Stan: What’s new in November + new Sherlock next January
Sherlock season four will be made up of three gripping episodes, starting with the intriguingly titled “The Six Thatchers”
The fourth season of the hugely popular BBC show Sherlock will be returning to Australian screens exclusively on Stan on 2 January 2017. The premiere episode will be available the same day as it goes to air in the UK and U.S.
As with the previous seasons of the massively successful cult-hit show, Sherlock season four will be made up of three gripping episodes, starting with the intriguingly titled “The Six Thatchers”. The second episode, “The Lying Detective” will follow, with the third episode’s title left a mystery and yet to be revealed.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular anti-hero and Martin Freeman as his partner/long-suffering BFF Watson, Sherlock is a fan-favourite sensation across the world. The fourth season promises more exciting drama and intrigue, sharp humour and tense mysteries. The season has already been described by stars and creators as darker than anything they have done before.
Sherlock season three premiered to all-time high ratings of 9.2 million viewers on BBC One in the UK, while 4 million viewers tuned in to catch the first episode on PBS in the US.
