During its broadcast of the first instalment of the Molly miniseries tonight, Seven unveiled its new multichannel, 7Flix.
Unlike the specific genre channel launches of Nine’s 9Life and SBS’s Food Network, 7Flix will be more general entertainment with a strong focus on movies. As seen in the preview, films on the channel will include Despicable Me, Pitch Perfect, The Proposal, Love Actually, Charlie’s Angels, Ghost, and Pretty Woman, along with kids films like Frozen, Monsters Inc, Kung Fu Panda, The Princess Diaries, and The Muppets.
The channel will also screen TV shows, including Scandal, Seinfeld, The Amazing Race, and The Mindy Project. It is yet to be seen whether the channel will include any fast-tracked content. Currently, the Seven co-owned Presto TV offers fast-tracked episodes of Scandal.
While the network is yet to confirm anything beyond the preview screened tonight, the video confirms that the channel will launch on 28 February and occupy channel 76.
