Biggest rise: KIIS 1065 +1.4
Biggest fall: 2CH -0.9
2GB 14.5% (+1.1)
Both Alan Jones and Ray Hadley increased their shares in their respective timeslots. The figures reinforce the importance of the two broadcasters to Macquarie Media. And the future of both remains uncertain at the station with Jones almost out of contract with what seems a major stumbling block stopping a new deal. Meanwhile investigations are underway into bullying claims being made about Hadley, which could certainly impact his future at the station. Under the worst case scenario, if both depart, Ben Fordham and Steve Price are the likely candidates for the breakfast and morning slots. Either could possibly take on the breakfast responsibilities, which is the more critical of the two timeslots.
Smoothfm 9.5% (-0.2%)
The station continues to rank #1 FM despite growth at KIIS 1065. Breakfast with Bogart Torelli and Glenn Daniel dropped 0.5, but they still outrate all FM competition except Kyle and Jackie O. Afternoon and drive were up with Byron Webb continuing to rank #1 overall in the latter.
KIIS 1065 9.1% (+1.4)
Kyle Sandilands has survived another trip to Coachella. Although he did admit he never made it to the actual festival, instead taking it easy around Palm Springs. He has arrived back as he and co-host Jackie Henderson lift breakfast share from 10.1% to 11.4%. There was even better news across the day with share up strongly in morning (+2.9 to 10.5%), afternoon (+2.1 to 9.3%) and in drive where Will and Woody surged from 6.9% to 8.7%, overtaking 2Day and Nova, trailing only smoothfm in the FM race.
WSFM 7.9% (-0.9)
All dayparts slipped a little with Jonesy and Amanda losing the smallest chunk of their audience – down 0.3 to 7.9%. Share was down 40-54, but station still ranks #1.
Nova 96.9 6.6% (+0.1)
Fitzy and Wippa can claim the credit for the overall bump with breakfast up 0.5 to 6.9%. Kate, Tim and Marty edged higher by the smallest possible margin to 8.4%, yet they still trail sister station smoothfm and the improving KIIS 1065. Smallzy started in morning this week in addition to his evening duties. He’s been greeted with a share of 5.3% to build on where the station ranks #5 out of six FM brands.
104.1 2Day FM 6.0% (+0.1)
Another minor milestone as the station continues its long rebuild. A share of 6% is the best in over three years. Breakfast with Grant, Ed and Ash close to its best, adding 0.1 to 4.5%. It’s best in that three-year period was 4.9% in survey three last year. Hughesy and Kate lifted 0.2 in drive to 7.1% where they rank #3 FM drive.
104.9 Triple M 4.7% (+0.1)
The smallest of rises came mainly from afternoon up 1.3 to 5.8%. Also up was the new Moonman breakfast show with a rise of 0.2 to 4.9%. Offsetting that growth was a fall in drive with Kennedy Molloy down 1.7 to 4.9%.
2CH 1170 3.5% (-1.0)
Share slipped a little after both breakfast and morning were down 1.3.
Macquarie Sports 954 0.5% (-0.1)
This is the smallest share ever for the Sydney AM licence currently trading as a sports radio station without a lot of live sport.
Sky Sports Radio 0.4% (-0.3)
Tough survey for sports stations. This is lowest share in a long time – well over three years at least.
