Quantcast welcomes appointments to APAC leadership team and commercial directors

Quantcast - Sonal Patel, Daniel O’Connor and Rueben Vijaratnam

The appointments follow the promotion of incumbent APAC VP, Andrew Double to VP – US Sales

Quantcast announced new appointments to its APAC leadership team and commercial directors.

Sonal Patel has been named new managing director for Asia-Pacific (APAC), with a remit that oversees the global advertising technology company’s presence across Australia, New Zealand and all of Asia.

In addition, Daniel O’Connor has been named commercial director for ANZ at Quantcast, and Rueben Vijaratnam has been appointed sales director for Southeast Asia.

Patel has over 20 years of experience in the tech and media industries. During her career, she has worked with Expedia in business development, was APAC managing director and vice president for AppNexus (now Xandr), APAC director of display platform strategy at Yahoo, regional sales director for Salesforce, and has held senior positions at Twitter Exchange, Google, and Dentsu.

Patel also held Industry roles including chair of the IAB Southeast Asia and India. She is passionate about driving robust sales teams, female entrepreneurship, talent coaching at all levels through her ACC certification from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and amplifying talent in the workforce.

O’Connor was previously sales director for Southeast Asia, based in Singapore, and has relocated to Sydney in his new role as commercial director for ANZ. O’Connor has over 15 years of experience in the media and tech industries, and has worked in senior sales roles with JCDecaux and Yahoo in the UK before joining Quantcast in 2017. O’Connor also previously served as an IAB Southeast Asia and Indie Programmatic Committee member.

In his new remit, O’Connor will lead the sales team for the company in Australia and New Zealand and continue to report to Patel.

Vijaratnam was previously head of platforms for Southeast Asia, and also has over 15 years of experience in the media and tech industries. He has held senior positions at Yahoo Asia Pacific, AdParlour and Oath prior to joining Quantcast in 2019.

In his new role, Vijaratnam will lead the sales teams for Quantcast in Southeast Asia, focusing on growing the company’s presence in the region. He will continue to be based in Singapore and reports to Patel.

Konrad Feldman, CEO of Quantcast, said: “With this strong leadership team and our many deep and valued relationships with brands and agencies across the region, we look forward to continuing to break through the complexity of digital advertising and deliver the results that marketers need.”

Patel said of her new role: “It’s both an exciting and interesting time to expand my remit to include Australia and New Zealand. The region here is incredibly dynamic, with new privacy legislation, expanded legislative powers for both the ACCC and ACMA to keep the tech giants in check, and explosive growth in CTV and retail media, as well as volatile consumer behaviour post-COVID.

“It’s a fascinating time and I’m excited to be a bigger part of our continued mission to help marketers in this region create more effective and accurate advertising in the future of digital.”

O’Connor said: “The business has grown rapidly in Australia, and I’m thrilled to take on the new role of Commercial Director for Quantcast ANZ. I’m looking forward to leading the sales team through this transformational phase and helping them attract new business while delivering the best outcomes for clients and the wider media industry.”

Vijaratnam said: “Southeast Asia has a vibrant digital economy and huge opportunities for further growth. I’m excited to lead our sales team to continue expanding our presence and continue to drive adoption of Quantcast’s market-leading solutions, while delivering more value to our clients in the region.”

The appointments follow the promotion of incumbent APAC vice president, Andrew Double to vice president – US Sales at Quantcast, based in New York.

Both appointments are effective immediately.
