Pinterest has announced the opening of their first Australian office in Sydney to serve users and businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
The ANZ team will be led by newly appointed country manager Carin Lee-Skelton, who has managed sales organisations at Pinterest over the past four years in the UK. Lee-Skelton will be tasked with growing Pinterest’s work with business in Australia and New Zealand.
Lee-Skelton said: “I’m excited to work closely with businesses of all sizes in Australia and New Zealand to help them reach their audiences on Pinterest.
“People go on Pinterest to try new things like outfit ideas, recipes, beauty looks, dream trips and even home remodels. As people come to Pinterest full of intent, businesses have a unique opportunity to inspire them to bring their ideas to life.”
This is Pinterest’s third office in the Asia-Pacific region after the Singapore office in July 2019, and Tokyo in 2013.
Jon Kaplan, Global Head of Sales at Pinterest said: “Over the past year, we’ve been meeting growing advertiser demand by scaling our teams where we’ve launched ads such as in Australia and New Zealand, as well as expanding our ads business into new markets.
“With Carin’s proven industry knowledge and years of experience driving results for brands on Pinterest, we’re looking forward to further developing the opportunities for businesses in Australia and New Zealand with a local team under her leadership.”
APAC is one of Pinterest fastest-growing regions, with millions of people currently using the platform each month—a number that has increased by more than 50% over the past year (June 2018 to June 2019).
