Seven West Media CEO Tim Worner confirmed this morning that Peter Zavecz, the chief executive officer of Pacific Magazines, has advised that he will be leaving the company, effective 30 September 2016.
“Peter has done a remarkable job over the past 11 years, as commercial director, as a publisher and as CEO of Pacific Magazines,” said Worner.
“He has led a terrific team working on some of the best brands in the publishing business and successfully led the Pacific Magazines transformation into new forms of digital delivery. It has successfully launched new digital products and the business has been transformed over the past two years.

“Pacific Magazines has leadership in most of the categories in which it publishes and is taking the lead in driving these brands beyond publishing.
“All of us at Seven West Media and his people at Pacific Magazines wish him well in his new role.”
Worner added: “We understand and acknowledge his decision to relocate to his home town in Melbourne with his family. Peter will continue to lead Pacific Magazines until he takes up his new role, and we will announce the appointment of a new managing director for Pacific Magazines in the near future.”
In a note to colleagues and friends this morning, Zavecz said: “After 11 great years with Pacific Magazines and SWM, the time has now come for me to ease back on the commuting lifestyle and relocate to Melbourne with my family. I would just like to thank you all for your support during my time with Pacific Magazines. It has been a tremendous ride.
“The magazine industry has undergone significant change over the past few years and I was fortunate to have been part of a dynamic team who came together with a clear vision to transform the business.
“Over the last three years, I was privileged to lead the company and will look back proudly on these times as Pacific evolved from a traditional magazine business to a multiplatform content company, delivering highly engaged audiences at scale and with speed. As I prepare to hand over my role, I am proud of the great team we have in place who will continue to build the reputation of our brands, grow our audiences and continue to deliver successful outcomes for our valued advertisers and retail partners.”
