Optus partners with UMA to give new and existing customers data free music streaming on selected prepaid mobile plans

Optus has announced its mobile music service, exclusive to prepaid mobile customers who want to use their mobile to stream music on selected apps without tapping into their data allowance.

Data free music streaming is now available to new and existing customers on My Prepaid Ultimate, My Prepaid Daily Plus and other selected plans, and will deliver unrivalled choice and access to some of Australia’s most popular music streaming mobile apps, including iHeartRadio, Spotify, Google Play Music, Pandora and Guvera.

Optus is also giving customers a richer music experience with access to events, content and the hottest musical acts through ground breaking partnerships with Universal Music and iHeartRadio. Universal Music will produce events and content for Optus through its branded entertainment agency, BRING.

George Ash, president, Asia Pacific at Universal Music, said “With the passion for and consumption of music at an all-time high, we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Australia’s most innovative telco, Optus, to create platforms that bring artists and Optus’ customers together to experience life changing events and content.”

iHeartRadio will provide opportunities for audiences to access their favourite music and stations on one simple platform and get them closer to the artists and music they love, through live events and content produced by Optus’ social video content agency, Emotive.

Geraint Davies, Chief Operating Officer, iHeartRadio Australia, said, “We’re excited that Optus customers are able to get closer to the artists and music they love, anytime all for free through iHeartRadio. With access to multiple ‘money can’t buy’ iHeartRadio LIVE events here in Australia, as well as the opportunity to be part of some of the world’s biggest music events, streaming iHeartRadio has never been easier and we look forward to Optus customers connecting with the extensive range of content available to them.”
