Nunn Media expands strategy and planning capabilities with key hires

Chris Walton: ‘Since joining us, Michelle and Elise have already begun to make a huge impact with our clients’.

Nunn Media, Australia’s largest independent media agency, has strengthened its strategic and planning capabilities in Sydney with the appointment of Michelle Miroforidis as head of strategy and Elise Dearden as planning director.

Expansion amid business growth

The appointments come at a time of growth and momentum for the agency, following a series of new business wins, including SunRice and Neilson Financial Services, with additional client partnerships expected to be announced soon.

Strengthening strategic and planning expertise

Miroforidis and Dearden bring extensive expertise across communications strategy, media planning, and audience engagement, further reinforcing Nunn Media’s approach to delivering effective brand connections.

Miroforidis has a background in integrated media strategy, with experience across paid, owned, earned, and shared channels. She has worked at Naked, UM, Diageo Connect by Publicis, and held in-house brand and creative agency roles, equipping her with a comprehensive understanding of multi-channel media strategies.

Miroforidis said: “I’m thrilled to be partnering with Chris, Elise and the team as we usher in a new and exciting era for Nunn.”

Meanwhile, Dearden joins as planning director in a newly created role, bringing experience from OMD, Spark Foundry, and Initiative in both London and Sydney. She has led planning efforts for McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, and HCF, with a focus on insight-driven and integrated communication strategies aimed at delivering measurable outcomes for brands.

Dearden added: “There’s much momentum at Nunn Media right now, and I’m excited to be joining at such a pivotal time, and I’m looking forward to working with a talented team to deliver great results.”

A focus on effective media execution

The expansion of Nunn Media’s strategic and planning team aligns with the agency’s broader commitment to data-driven media planning and ensuring brand messages are effectively positioned across an increasingly complex consumer journey.

As the media landscape continues to evolve, these appointments reflect a growing demand for agencies that can blend strategic insight with executional excellence, ensuring clients are well-positioned to navigate shifting audience behaviours and competitive market conditions.

High praise

Chris Walton, managing director of Nunn Media Sydney, said: “Since joining us, Michelle and Elise have already begun to make a huge impact with our clients. Their strategic acumen and deep understanding of media dynamics have helped elevate our approach, delivering sharper insights and more effective planning. Beyond that, their energy and leadership have enriched our agency culture. We’re thrilled to have them as part of the team.”
