Nova Entertainment has launched a refreshed Nova brand, the first in over six years and its biggest ever.

Nova Entertainment has released the following statement about the rebrand launch:

The brand will have a reinvigorated look and feel to reflect Nova’s passion to provide the freshest music and highlight the power of live entertainment. The refresh will also reflect Nova’s commitment to brightening listeners’ lives and staying in touch with the vibe of each local city.

Tony Thomas, Nova Entertainment’s chief marketing & digital officer, said, “The Nova brand has always been considered one of the strongest media brands in Australia and the launch of the refreshed Nova brand will ensure Nova’s image is showcased in a modern, energetic and dynamic way well into the future. Great brands continually evolve and it’s exciting to be able build on the love for the Nova brand by our listeners from a position of strength into 2017 and beyond.”

Nova’s refreshed vision will extend across all touchpoints from on-air programming, new mobile apps (including Apple Carplay), desktop, mobile sites and social platforms and across all signage, merchandise and street teams. The brand refresh will be supported by an extensive marketing and national media campaign across TV, OOH, social and consumer and trade media from 5 February.

The OOH creative will showcase Nova’s strong line up of on-air talent and fundamental to this launch will be Nova’s music-led TVC, shot by Kontented in Sydney, LA and London. The TVC is dedicated to reflecting Nova’s connection and passion for music, featuring some of the world’s biggest international and local artists including Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Chris Martin, Niall Horan, Little Mix and Illy.

The TVC is testament to Nova’s commitment to bringing the freshest hits and the biggest live music experiences, through Nova’s Red Room, to listeners around the country. Since launching in 2012 Nova’s Red Room has become one of Australia’s most successful live music brands, with over 120 live performances from the world’s biggest international and local artists including Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Usher and Sam Smith. The recently announced Nova’s Red Room with Ed Sheeran live from Sydney Opera House is also the first major initiative supporting the refresh, with the gig held at an iconic local Sydney site on 7 February. The event will be broadcast on the Nova Network from 9pm that night to allow listeners at home to experience this special performance.

Since the Nova Network launched in 2001, the brand has built a highly engaged audience, diversified across multiple platforms and created innovative client solutions based on deep audience connections.

The last brand update was in 2011. More recently Nova Entertainment invested in a significant brand study to provide more insight than ever before and put Nova in a position to further develop its strong audience connection now and for the future. Nova’s reinvigorated look and feel in 2017 is designed to continue to ensure Nova’s image remains the dominate radio brand for the under-40 audience.

The new Nova design reflects the evolution of the brand into a fun, dynamic and energetic network that is broadly appealing right across the country.

The new look and feel for the Nova Network will be revealed on Friday 3 February with the TVC released on Sunday 5 February and Nova’s Red Room with Ed Sheeran live from the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday February 7.
