Nine has put on a show for an anniversary event celebrating Tracy Grimshaw, Liz Hayes, and Peter Overton. Both Grimshaw and Hayes have marked 40 years with the network, while Overton celebrates 30 years.

Held on Friday, August 12, this was the second attempt at celebrating the milestone anniversaries. The original event was scheduled for a year ago, and was postponed due to Covid restrictions.

The event was held at the Yallamundi Rooms at the Sydney Opera House.

Ally Langdon was MC for the evening, and guests included, family, friends, as well as past and current work colleagues of Tracy, Liz, and Peter. A number of Channel Nine executives also attended the event.

The event also included a trip down memory lane, looking back the photos of the trio throughout their time with Nine.

The anniversary celebrations are the latest in a year full of big moments to mark for Nine, with the Tody Show blowing out 40 candles earlier in the year.

Tuesday June 28th was the official anniversary of Australia’s longest running breakfast news program, with cameras first rolling in 1982. Rounding out a big week with a special broadcast, the team looked back on four decades of news events, celebrity guests, OBs from all over the world, and some of the characters they’ve met along the way.
