In a month punctuated by Easter, Anzac Day and school holidays, the Current Events & Global News subcategory reached 13.2 million Australians according to the latest data from Nielsen Digital Ratings (Monthly).
There was some movement in the top 10 ranking but the top four entities held their position with news.com.au continuing to lead the subcategory with a unique audience of 5.6 million (-2%).
ABC News websites (4.6 million, -5%), Nine.com.au (4.4 million, -3%) and smh.com.au (3.8 million, -7%) kept their second, third and fourth positions respectively.
The Guardian jumped up one spot to fifth place with a unique audience of 2.9 million (+0.4%) and Daily Mail Australia moved to sixth (2.7 million, -16%).
Yahoo7 news websites, including The West Australian, jumped three spots to rank in seventh position (2.7 million, +12%) and The Daily Telegraph shifted to eighth position (2.2 million, -11%) followed by the BBC in ninth (2.2 million, -13%) and the Herald Sun in tenth (2.1 million, -15%).
