Pericles brings two decades of experience as a producer, director and development executive across the factual and entertainment TV landscape, including positions at Fremantle Media, ABC, Screentime, Seven Network, National Geographic UK, Electric Pictures, the Nine Network, The Lifestyle Channel and XYZ. Pericles comes to Mint following two years as development executive at CJZ, where several primetime blue chip documentary series were commissioned under her direction.
Her recent production credits include Bondi Rescue (Ten), Exhumed (ABC), I Will Survive (Ten), Getaway (Nine) and Felicity’s Mental Mission (ABC).
Adam Kay, Mint’s managing director, said: “Nia has outstanding hands-on experience across the industry, and will be a pivotal part of Mint as we grow over the next few years.”
Nia Pericles added: “Mint Pictures is renowned for its high calibre productions, consistently pushing the boundaries and telling globally relevant stories. I am thrilled to be joining Adam & Dan and look forward to playing a key role in developing and shaping their creative output.”
Mint won the 2016 Screen Producers of Australia documentary of the year for Strictly Jewish, which earned the highest ratings for SBS’s Untold Australia series last year. It is currently in production on The Archibald, a four-part series for Foxtel Arts, and Waste Nation, a feature documentary due for release later this year. Mint is also in formal development with shows for ABC, SBS, Discovery and Nine.
Mint’s latest production Streets of Your Town (ABC, November 2016) was hosted by Tim Ross with Mint reporting an average audience of over 900,000 viewers for each episode.
Pericles will commence her role at Mint on Monday February 27.
