News Corp Australia has appointed Ian Smith as general manager trading, national sales, with a focus on managing trading operations for both consortium and key accounts across print and digital.

Smith was formerly head of partnerships at global media agency Initiative in Sydney. He has a 17-year career and significant accomplishments with skills in commercial strategies and negotiations, dynamic and programmatic trading, sports rights negotiations and the development of broadcast and digital partnerships. He previously worked for Initiative’s sister agency Ensemble as well as the Nine and Ten TV networks.
