The inaugural Mediaweek Academy is set to launch next month and the bumper line-up of Legends and Superstars for the 2023* season has been confirmed.
The course framework – beginning on February 22, 2023 – is spread over 10 months and will feature a special blend of interactive elements, Q&A, regular lectures, a feedback loop, and a personalised action plan to implement back in your business after each session.
Industry expert Greg Graham will lead the sessions which will feature a Superstar of the industry discussing their insights in their respective specialist areas, alongside an industry Legend sharing their career development wisdom.
The lessons will be monthly for a half-day at the New South Wales Teachers Federation commencing in February 2023* through to November 2023. Classes will be on the last Wednesday of every month. Classes will be on the last Wednesday of every month.
Graham said: “I’m very proud that every Legend I approached about being involved in the Mediaweek Academy immediately said yes, they wanted to help and support this new industry educational initiative.
“The depth of knowledge and experience of these Legends is truly outstanding and I know the scholars attending will find the Legend’s insights incredibly rewarding.
“It’s not often you get to hear from industry Legends of this calibre and for them to share their industry insights and knowledge.
Fellow industry legend Graham Webster, chief executive officer of Enth Degree, added: “After almost half a century in the Advertising Industry, I look forward to sharing some learnings from participating in pitches, and now evaluating them.
“A successful pitch is a mixture of confidence and competence. You won’t win without both. Learning on the job is only as good as the person you are learning from. The depth of experience involved in the Mediaweek Academy will fast track your learning,” he said.
Rose Herceg, WPP president, Australia and New Zealand, who will be speaking at the Academy as a Legend said: “The day we stop learning is the day we stop dreaming of what’s possible. Being a part of this Academy in conversations with Greg, is one of the best ways to elevate our industry to its rightful place.
“A place of innovation and growth. Where the best, most lateral ideas can help our clients contribute to an economy and open the doorway to a seat at the most important tables.”
Graham also added that he was pleased with the support from the Superstars he approached about taking part in the series.
“The fresh perspective from such a diverse group of Superstars will bring new insights and learnings to all the attendees. The powerful combination of the Legends and Superstars will certainly, deliver unique insights and knowledge.
“I can’t thank them enough and having important conversations around industry issues that matter is priceless. This special experience and engagement with both Legends and Superstars will ensure the Mediaweek Academy delivers true inspiration,” he added.
Superstar Danni Hudson from Snap Inc. said: “There aren’t many opportunities to get a front row seat to get under the hood with some of our most admired and successful industry stalwarts and in an increasingly complex landscape, partnerships and collaboration in our industry have never been so important.
“I’m excited to join Sparrow and all the speakers for the Mediaweek Academy in what will be an unmissable opportunity for our young industry talent,” she added.
Chloe Hooper, founder of Bare Feat, said: “Learning and development is an investment that is often not taken advantage of. People often make excuses why training isn’t a priority for them that day. But life is all about learning. Take every opportunity you can.
Graduates from the 10-month Mediaweek Academy course will gain certification ensuring they are the hottest talent for that next new job or promotion opportunity.
