Mark Wallace has been appointed as editor of the Southern Highlands Express.
Wallace is a veteran journalist with more than 45 years of experience and has been reporting for the Express since May 2021.
He was previously the editor of the Highlands Post in the mid-1980s in between a cadetship with the now-defunct Sydney Sun, and more than 20 years at The Canberra Times.
He has also edited several community newspapers, including the Canberra Chronicle, the Hornsby Advocate, as well as editor of the Rotary Magazine.
Wallace has been back in the Highlands since 2010 during which time he served as a volunteer with the Rotary Club of Bowral Mittagong.
He is currently an active member of the community, participating in the Highlands Theatre Group and as president of the Chevalier Past Students, having boarded with the college in the 1970s.
For the past six years he has run a successful real estate and sports photography business.
