Mahlab has announced it is now B Corp certified.
The marketing and communications agency joins a global community of over 6000 businesses in 80 countries that meet high standards of social and environmental impact.
The B Corp certification is administered by B Lab, a global nonprofit network that aims to make business a force for good and change the economic system to become more inclusive, equitable and regenerative.
Bobbi Mahlab, Mahlab founder and chair, said: “Operating as an inclusive, accountable and sustainable business has been core to Mahlab since its foundation more than 25 years ago, and we’re thrilled to join this stellar community of like-minded organisations.”
CEO Cara McLeod said B Corp is an ongoing journey for the business. “We have always been focused on creating an environment that allows our team to thrive and deliver work that supports our clients and communities. Gaining B Corp certification is another important step in this process.”
“As a business that has always embraced innovation and change, we know that expectations, standards and technology don’t stand still and we will continue to drive improvement to benefit our team, clients, communities and the environment,” McLeod added.
One way the marketing and communications agency is currently working to drive positive change is through the introduction of its internal training and learning program, the Mahlabratory, which is dedicated to expanding employees’ skills and abilities.
A B Corp Certification means that a company has been verified as meeting B Lab’s high standards for social and environmental impact, that it has made a legal commitment to stakeholder governance and that it is demonstrating accountability and transparency by disclosing this record of performance in a public B Corp profile.
Some well-known B Corps include Ben & Jerry’s, Warby Parker, Patagonia, The Guardian, Kickstarter, and Allbirds.
Earlier this month The Lab announced it was a certified B Corp agency.
