Lie will launch her own tech platform, Learna, a micro-learning app for people skills

Lisa Lie has announced her departure from Half Dome after three years with the independent agency.

The outgoing head of people and culture will launch her own tech platform, Learna, a micro-learning app for people skills.

Learna aims to change the way people learn. The app is being built for fast, practical and useful learning on the skills that make the most difference at work.

Lie took to LinkedIn to share her news, she said: “It’s no secret I’ve absolutely loved working at Half Dome and the opportunities it’s given me.”

Lie noted that she was thankful for the people she was worked with and the thrill of challenging the status quo, learning, and experimenting with new ways to work better.

Lie also specially thanked managing director Tom Frazer, head of planning Will Harms and head of growth Joe Frazer for giving her room to create and lead the way with people strategies and initiatives. She said: “You’re absolute legends and the way you go about things has been a massive contributor to our success.”

Lie continued: “Someone wise once said: ‘You can’t use an old map to explore a new world.'”

“It’s this curiosity around navigating the new world of work that’s led me to create Learna, a microlearning app for people skills development,” she said.

“I can’t wait to share this platform with other curious workplaces who are looking for ways to understand their learning culture, experiment and co-create better ways to learn at work,” Lie added.

Managing director Tom said of Lie: “Over the last three years, Lisa has been pivotal in shaping Half Dome, particularly as it relates to its most important asset – people.

“Together, we have created a culture backed by experimentation and challenging the status quo, landing on a simple mantra to create a space for people to thrive. And thrive Lisa has.

“From an early-stage idea, through to testing, and more recently, deciding to take the plunge and follow her passion, Half Dome has been supportive of Lisa’s development of Learna from day one.

“The evolution from colleague to client in the future will no doubt be seamless, and we’re looking forward to seeing Learna reach its full potential not just for us but for workplaces around Australia – being a small part of this journey is an exciting prospect.

“As we move into the next phase of our business, it’s clear Half Dome has big shoes to fill after Lisa’s departure. Whilst we search for a replacement, our general manager Catherine Smith will take responsibility for the people and culture function, someone who has worked closely with Lisa over the last 12 months.

“With a sense of optimism, we are looking to find the next innovator, someone who has a similar desire to push Half Dome to remain a leader in the future of work. And with Lisa’s blessing, we are excited about what’s to come.”
