I’m A Celebrity… Get Me out of Here! is returning for its ninth season on 10, premiering on Sunday, April 2 at 7.30 pm, on 10 And 10 Play.
And after two years in the Australian bush, the celebrity contestants head back to South Africa’s Kruger National Park to rough it out in a camp without their creature comforts and only the bare necessities.
Celebrities must compete in various challenges to earn meals and other luxuries, but the ultimate prize is $100,000 which will be donated to their chosen charity.
Narrating the celebrities’ ups, downs, challenges, and tucker trials will be Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown from their lofty treehouse.
The celebrity contestants remain a secret until premiere night, and this year 10 has provided fans with a new clever and catchy musical trailer laden with clues about the stars taking part in the reality show.
The funky 60s airline themed teaser gave five hints about the occupations of the contestants: a Brownlow Medal-winning famous footballer, a comedian, a TV host, a boxing lightweight and a famous chef.
“We know there are many celebrities with excess baggage, please share it live on national television – we do encourage,” Morris sang.
Season nine will be the show’s first time back in Kruger National Park after COVID-19 pandemic. The previous two seasons were filmed in Australia at Dungay, north-eastern New South Wales.
Dylan Lewis, TV and radio host was crowned King of the Jungle last year’s season. Singer Brooke McClymont named as runner-up and former AFL coach and player Nathan Buckley was in third place.
Lewis won $100,000 for his chosen charity, Lifeline. He said of his win: “I am surprised and I am elated. Everyone deserved to win but I’m just really happy I got to bring this one home for Lifeline. Thank you to everyone who voted and I love you.”
