The last day for survey two for GfK radio ratings was Saturday. Many stations are taking the chance to give their breakfast shows time off. In Sydney most of the FM shows were on holidays including Kyle and Jackie O, Jonesy and Amanda and the new Em Rusciano and Harley Breen show. Still at work however was Nova 969’s Fitzy and Wippa.
Sydney AM radio breakfast broadcasters Alan Jones at 2GB and John Stanley and Garry Linnell were at work too.
In Melbourne market leader Ross Stevenson and John Burns were taking time off with Justin Smith and Kate Stevenson taking the breakfast slot. On that breakfast show this morning, showbiz reporter Peter Ford predicted that Karl Stefanovic would be leaving. “Private research into Karl indicates they have a problem. Women have turned on him as a result of his marriage breakup and the way that’s played out,” Ford said on Monday.
“He’s going to be gone from there.
“I’d be surprised if he lasted the year, quite frankly.”
Not everyone is a on break at 3AW this week. Neil Mitchell is hosting his morning show.
Elsewhere in the market both Triple M’s The Hot Breakfast, Fox’s Fifi, Dave and Fev and Nova’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny were also taking a break.
Although the survey books are now being collected, we will have to wait for the ratings results until Thursday April 27. Thursday is the nominated day this time because of ANZAC Day falling on Tuesday April 25.
