Ross Stevenson and John Burns can this week celebrate 128 consecutive survey wins and a career total of 199 wins as Melbourne’s #1 breakfast show. The rest of the station is full of over-achievers too with Neil Mitchell, Denis Walter, Tom Elliott and weekday evenings pulling big numbers. Breakfast is on 20% with evening not far behind on 19.0%. The station remains the #1 destination on weekends too with a share of 14.3%. Share 65+ has grown to 36.2% overall, which must be just over 50% of the commercial audience share.
Gold 104.3 11.1% (+1.8)
What a great survey for the station and its best in 10 years. Gold’s 10+ share has not been in double figures for over two years let alone pushing as high as it did this week. Helping drag the station share higher were Jo and Lehmo in breakfast with a best-ever share for the duo of 8.4% – up 0.7 and making them #1 FM breakfast. All dayparts contributed too with morning up 2.0 to 12.7%, afternoon up 2.3 to 14.4%, drive up 1.8 to 10.1% and evening up 1.7 to 7.0%. Gold is also just 0.6 from upsetting the smoothfm ownership of weekends with a share of 11.4%, up 2.1. The station rocked a couple of the demos, one more key than the other. Listening 40-54 jumped 5.0 to 17.9% where the station is 9.1 points ahead of smoothfm! Gold also bounced 18-24 with share up 4.6 to 17.1%.

The second consecutive survey above 10% despite a small drop overall and declines in all dayparts. Morning and afternoon are still in double figures while drive is close on 9.8%. The station remains #1 FM 55-64.
101.9 FOX FM 8.7% (-0.6)
The slimmed-down breakfast with Fifi, Fev and Byron and no Dave Thornton dropped 0.9 and lost top spot FM to Gold. All dayparts lost share, yet Hamish and Andy managed to win back the mantle as #1 FM drive as they lead Gold by just 0.4. Fox still hits the target in key demos, ranking #1 18-24 and 25-39. However, in the former share dropped 6.7 to 19.5%.
Nova 100 6.9% (0.0)
Breakfast and evening were the only shows to build share – breakfast with Chrissie, Sam and Browny was up 0.2 to 7.0% while in evenings, Smallzy contributed to a 0.5 lift of 7.2%.The station remains #3 18-24 and 25-39 and #6 40-54.
KIIS 101.1 6.2% (0.0)
For a station considered to be underperforming, it has managed to outrate Triple M not only this survey, but in four of the seven surveys so far in 2017. Not much to get excited about here though with breakfast on 5.6% and morning on 5.3%. Share peaks with Hughesy and Kate in drive, yet they are ranked #4 FM in the market.

It is all about The Hot Breakfast with Eddie, newcomer Wil Anderson and anchor Luke Darcy with share steady on 7.1%. After the breakfast share the next best is drive on 6.4% where there might be some sort of bounce in survey eight which will arrive only hours before Santa Claus does next month. Station works best 40-54 where it ranks #2 behind Gold.
SEN 3.5% (-0.3)
Shares have hovered in the 3s all year after survey one. Breakfast has had a second survey on 3.5% which remains it best number in 2017.

Best traction is in afternoon with an share of 0.5%. The market hasn’t exactly opened its arms to John and Garry at breakfast, yet, with share on 0.3%, which is a new all-time low.
