In person events were a no-go for a while there, what were you doing during the heights of Covid?

“I was hosting all of these online shows, which was really bizarre. A lot of companies were wanting to have online meetings and events –  I was kind of hosting the strangest things. I was also doing a lot of interviews for Yahoo, all online. So that was pretty bizarre, but still fun.

“When we’re doing interviews with people with their laptops, one of the benefits is it that we’re in their houses. They’d walk around with their computers and show us around the house, it was quite cool.”

You’ve been working on a few projects with Red Bull recently, what have you been up to there?

“A little while ago, I pitched a show to them about putting a regular person into extreme events, just to give perspective as to how incredible their athletes are. They put me into a 150-kilometre race called Red Bull Defiance. It was so nuts. It was running, kayaking, rafting, extreme mountain biking – it was a lot.

“At the moment, I’ve been doing a show with high diver Rhiannan Iffland, literally the best female diver in the world. She is she just jumped out of a helicopter over Sydney Harbour! She’s competing in the Red Bull Cliff Dive World Series, so I had a chat with her and did her media events  – but Red Bull has also asked me to jump from the tower, and I’m not going to lie, I am shitting myself.”

Why did you say yes to DJing the Mediaweek 100 afterparty?

“I’m going to see all my friends! It’s like going back to a school reunion, I thought it’d be good to catch up with all my buddies who work in media. So I thought it’d be great to get involved.”

What can people expect from your set?

“Mountains of bangers! Every time I DJ, I try to do something different. I am considering doing a country set and playing a bunch of country tunes. I think it’s rare for people to go out and see a DJ set where the DJ is playing nothing but country bangers, so you can expect some Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton.”
