Cartoon Network recommissions five original series at Comic-Con

Cartoon Network series recommissions + Twitter releasing Star Wars emojis

Cartoon Network Studios’ original series Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Uncle Grandpa and Clarence will return for additional seasons as announced this week by Cartoon Network at San Diego Comic-Con.

“It’s a banner year for Cartoon Network Studios original productions,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer.

“It is particularly gratifying to see shows so creatively forward-thinking also deliver so powerfully with the audience,” said Sorcher.

Coming on the heels of worldwide ratings and critical acclaim are orders for season eight of the Peabody Award-winning Adventure Time, season eight of the Emmy-winning Regular Show, season three of the Emmy-winning Uncle Grandpa, season three of Steven Universe and season two of Clarence.

Twitter is getting into the Comic-Con spirit with new for Star Wars fans:

On Friday, July 10 [Saturday in Australia], your favourite intergalactic saga will be featured on three new custom Twitter emojis. Starting at 9:30am PT, the special series of reveals will occur one by one throughout the day, concluding at 5:30pm PT during a “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Hall H panel featuring

Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J. Abrams (@Bad_Robot), writer Lawrence Kasdan and other special guests. Be sure to follow @StarWars, and @Bad_Robot on Friday and all weekend to see the emojis in action.
