Seven have commissioned a new series, Cannonball, based on the format created by John de Mol’s Talpa Media. The outdoor water battle game show format will be produced by ITV Studios Australia.
Currently Seven are casting for the show, with teams of two people who have a pre-existing relationship given preference. As per the casting call, contestants of all sorts of body types are being encouraged to take part: “Size doesn’t matter on this show (in fact being bigger could be better and being small may make you slide faster) so find a friend, a fitness fanatic, a family member or even a date for the most exciting day out and your chance to be slip n flying high on television.”
Episodes will be filmed locally, with friends and family welcome to join the audience.

The ultimate water battle is coming to Australia in a spectacular outdoor game show. (23 February 2016)
Seven has commissioned ITV Studios Australia to make a local version of CANNONBALL, a spectacular outdoor water-based game show format created by Talpa.
In CANNONBALL, 15 daredevil young couples compete in a fun and action-packed water battle set on a lake. Across several rounds covering distance, speed and height, each couple attempts to jump the highest, slide the furthest and fly the highest in order to be crowned the champions. Will the human cannonballs reach new heights or will their efforts end in an embarrassing belly flop?
Seven’s Director of Network Production, Brad Lyons, said: “Australians of all ages will be cheering on our fearless contestants as they attempt to fly further, faster and harder than their competitors. Expect high-flying thrills and stupendous spills – Cannonball’s got it all!”
Cannonball will go into production in Sydney later this year. Casting is now underway at www.cannonball.tv
