Debuting on Tuesday 20 September at 8 pm on ABCTV and ABC iView, ABC announces the screen premiere of Take 5 with Zan Rowe with a five-episode run. Zan Rowe brings interviews with iconic figures in music, film and television to share their stories of the songs that have shaped their personal history.
Part of the ABC’s commitment to arts content, Take 5 with Zan Rowe forms part of the nexus for the national conversation surrounding visual and performance art, books, films and music.
With a five-episode run, each episode will feature titans of their industry. With each episode centring on one interviewee, the first three episodes feature Guy Pearce sharing stories of loss, Keith Urban opening up about his struggles with addiction and Missy Higgins engaging in a candid discussion with host Zan. Tony Armstrong shares stories of life in the public eye during his storied AFL career, with the series rounding out with a forthright interview with Tori Amos unreservedly discussing the battles of being a woman in the music industry and in particular how this battle is fought within the endemic of sexual assault and coercion of the music industry.
Discussed through the lens that music is what connects people universally, Take 5 with Zan Rowe will highlight, as Zan says “…those experiences where we hear a song and we’re transported back to an exact moment in our life.”
