The Australian Box Office has grossed $5.59 million this week, averaging $1,319 over 4,236 screens. Overall this is down 23%, with last week bringing in $7.19 million.
The only new entry to the top five this week is the Australian June Again, starring Noni Hazlehurst. During a brief bout of lucidity from her dementia, June Wilton (played by Hazlehurst) has precious little time to bring together her estranged children, save the family business, and rekindle an old flame.
The film debuts to the third spot on the list this week.
Dropping out of the top five is Six Minutes to Midnight, which came in fifth last week.
Godzilla Vs Kong holds on by its claws, rounding out the top five this week, dropping from third to fifth. It’s an impressive run however, from a film in its seventh week of release.
#1 Wrath of Man, $1.25 million
Debuting to number one last week and continuing the run is Guy Ritchie’s Wrath of Man. A new security guard for a Los Angeles cash truck surprises his co-workers when he unleashes precision skills during a heist. The cash truck crew is left wondering who he is and why he’s working with them. The film averaged $3,536 across 353 screens.
#2 Mortal Kombat, $772,511
In its third week of release, Mortal Kombat has fought its way to an average of $2,327 across 332 screens.
#3 June Again, $561,468
The Australian film directed by JJ Winlove averaged $1,760 across 319 screen on its debut week.
#4 Peter Rabbit 2, $352,121
Still hopping along after the Easter school holidays, Peter Rabbit 2 averaged $1,190 across 296 screens this week.
#5 Godzilla Vs Kong, $274,650
Godzilla Vs Kong pulled in $1,289 across 213 screens. However, for a film in its seventh week of release, Godzilla Vs Kong is still putting in a strong performance.
