Jim Moser, BBDO Europe chairman, has announced that he will be leaving the company after just shy of 30 years, and that he is heading back to Australia.
On LinkedIn, Moser wrote that “I have loved my time at BBDO – from Poland, to Italy, to Australia, to New Zealand, and most recently, to the United Kingdom/Europe. What an incredible career and opportunity for me and my family, to travel the world and experience so many special places and so many talented people. I’ve been fortunate, very fortunate.
“I am NOT retiring. I’m too young and I have too much energy to stop contributing. There is so much more I plan and want to do, but not in a large full time corporate role. As much as I have loved these roles for the past few decades, it is time to do something different and to challenge myself again. I have a lot of ideas and a few interesting options, but for now, I’ll take some time off and then plot a course for the future. To begin, we plan to relocate back to Australia.”
In his post, Moser thanks individuals including Allen Rosenshine, David Wheldon, Robert Morgan – who Moser says “hired me to run Clemenger BBDO Sydney starting in 1999 and kept giving me challenge after challenge until I left in late 2018” – and Andrew Robertson.
“There are so many talented people that I have worked with over the past 29 years at BBDO. All of them have positively influenced me and my career, and I hope, I have in some way returned the favour. Being grateful is the definition of happiness, and I am eternally grateful for the last 29 years. Thank you BBDO,” Moser concluded.
In September, Clemenger Group announced the appointment of Dani Bassil as CEO of Clemenger BBDO Australia. She returned home to Australia after almost 20 years in the United Kingdom.
