Avid Collective has announced it will launch Avid Originals – four new, innovative, short-form shows on podcast and social video platforms across Avid Media’s Brands on February 18.
Avid Originals represent a new era in the creation and publication of original, short-form Australian content.
The shows have been created to tap into a range of passion points, with the goal of driving deeper connection and engagement with audiences across Avid Media’s owned media brands.
The topics for each show include sustainability in a weekly two-part podcast called The Thriving Planet Podcast; interviews with eco-warriors using a multi-platform approach called I’m Saving The Planet; a travel show showcasing unique Australian destinations using social video called Travel Experiences Australia, and a vlog-style product test show also using social video called Add To Cart Tries.
Avid Collective managing director, Luke Spano said Avid Originals was created due to the lack of engaging, short-form, original content in Australia.
“We think there is a real opportunity to better connect Aussies to their passion points via high-quality, accessible, and easily consumed original content,” he said.
“We know from the growth of our media brands over the past three years, which now reach over 6 million Australians every month, that our audiences want more original content produced by Australians, for Australians.
“So, the ethos of Avid Originals is to create content that is highly relevant to our engaged local Aussie audience, with the vision of building hyper-engaged communities, bonding over the passion points our audiences love and share,” he added.
Each of the Avid Originals shows is set to go live this week, with new episodes published across all major social and podcast platforms regularly, mobilising a unique distribution plan and schedule per show.
The shows will be available on Avid’s media brands: ‘Add To Cart’, ‘For The Home’, ‘Where To Travel’ and ‘Thriving Planet’.
Avid Media is already in sponsorship discussions for the Originals shows with a beta test group of advertisers and will be opening discussions to the broader market from March.
