Are Media reported a 7% year-on-year lift in readership across its stable of magazine titles, according to the latest Roy Morgan readership numbers.
The lift in the September quarter marks the fifth consecutive quarter of growth delivering more than six million readers a month.
Better Homes & Gardens is the most-read paid print magazine in Australia – up 11% year-on-year to 1.81 million readers.
The Australian Women’s Weekly grew 8% y-o-y to 1.34 million and Woman’s Day, increased 4% to 783,000 readers. marie claire jumped 30% to 307,000 readers, Home Beautiful leapt 28% to 391,000 readers, and Australian House & Garden increased 20% to 696,000 readers.
Jane Huxley, the chief executive of Are Media, said, “In tough economic times, magazines are an affordable ‘luxury’ and provide a break from the worries and pressures of day-to-day life. At the same time, they represent a way to escape the digital and social media noise.
“The connection and community offered by magazines are very powerful and keep people coming back every week or every month.”
