Staff took part in art therapy sessions, a Pilates class and a mental health workshop

Apparent has marked R U OK? day with a programme of events and activities for both in-office and international staff to encourage deeper awareness, empathy and meaningful connection for its staff.

The independent agency kicked off the day with a morning juice bar, hosted art therapy sessions and a lunchtime Pilates class.

Staff were encouraged to prioritise mental health, and mutual support and build connections at its pop-up connection space called The Drop-Inn.

Trained psychologist Emma Kavanagh also ran afternoon workshops for staff. Her sessions educated Apparent staff on how to recognise the signs someone may be struggling and how to best manage an R U OK? conversation.

R U OK? is an Australian non-profit suicide prevention organisation, founded by advertiser Gavin Larkin in 2009. The organisation centres on the slogan “R U OK?” and advocates for people to have conversations with others.
