The ABC is the official broadcaster of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018. The event will be held across Greater Sydney, including Sydney Olympic Park and around Sydney Harbour October 20-27.
The ABC will broadcast 100 hours of exclusive content from the games, which will see 500 competitors from 10 nations take part. The eight-day multisport event is for wounded, injured or ill veterans and active service men and women.
ABC’s coverage will include original and curated Invictus Games-inspired content such as Invictus Games Today, local and international documentaries, news, science, sport, health and children’s programs, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies, and live coverage of the events.
The broadcaster will have multiplatform coverage across its scheduled radio and TV programs, on ABC News (TV) and radio channels, as well as on its digital channels. The Games will be streamed live on ABC iview and on the ABC TV and iview social channels.
Prince Harry established the Invictus Games four years ago. The sporting event has created much buzz in the media this year as it will be the first time the Duke of Sussex will visit the country after his royal wedding with Meghan Markle.
