ABC hit by nationwide online radio outage leaving listeners in silence

The network says it’s working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

The ABC’s online radio services suffered a nationwide outage this morning, leaving listeners of its flagship breakfast program with dead air for more than an hour.

The issue, which impacted both broadcast and streaming services, was first detected around 8am AEDT and was resolved shortly after 9:30am.

According to news.com.au, an ABC spokesperson confirmed the disruption and apologised for the inconvenience. “The ABC is aware of an issue which began after 8am AEDT this morning and is impacting Radio National and other audio services on broadcast and streaming services, including ABC listen,” they said.

“The ABC apologises for any inconvenience caused and we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”

According to the national broadcaster, the outages have not impacted any emergency services.
