ABC Commercial extends SVOD content agreement with DRG

New deal with ABC Commercial will see a number of key DRG catalogue titles come to SVOD providers in Australia & New Zealand

The sales arm of the ABC, ABC Commercial, have today announced an extension to their agreement with international content distributor DRG.

The deal enables ABC Commercial to sell key DRG catalogue titles to SVOD providers in Australia and New Zealand. Key titles in the deal include the cult Matt Berry comedy Toast of London, the original UK version of Shameless, and the metal detecting comedy Detectorists.

Sydney, Australia; Thursday, 19th November 2015:
ABC Commercial today announced they have extended their ongoing relationship with leading independent content distributor DRG, with a new agreement that will see a number of iconic DRG programs brought to local SVOD providers in Australia & New Zealand.

The deal means local audiences can soon expect to see DRG’s critically acclaimed Toast of London and the original UK version of Shameless coming to their screens.

Other iconic titles included in the deal are the BAFTA Award winning comedy Detectorists, the Emmy award winning drama Criminal Justice and the three-part documentary series Baroque! From St Peter’s to St Paul’s, winner of the 2010 Royal Television Society Award for best arts program.

The ongoing relationship between the two content parties will also see TV dramas Lip Service, Teachers, Top Boy, Doc Martin, Kingdom and the complete UK version of Queer As Folk continue on local VOD platforms. Cult classics Black Books and The Inbetweeners will also continue to be available locally.

In addition, viewers will continue to enjoy the hilarious comedies Peep Show, Spaced, Green Wing and the BAFTA Award winning series Father Ted, and can soon expect the factual documentaries Paradise Found: Islamic Architecture and Arts, The Michelangelo Code: The Secrets of the Sistine Chapel and Vincent: The Full Story.

ABC Commercial has also successfully brought a number of DRG’s key programs to physical disc this year, including Toast of London, Britain’s Best Canals with John Sergeant and The Art History Collection.
