Mediaweek night out: The Renovators' launch
July 8, 2011 It’s been a tough week for many at Network Ten as the broadcaster started a round of redundancies that will see the staff numbers pruned by 100 from all parts of the business. The company is keen to ensure that the cuts do not impact on the experience that viewers get when they watch any of the Network’s three channels and so far just one program, Video Hits, has been axed.
An important part of the network’s second half of the year schedule will be the Shine Australia program The Renovators – an original format which was developed by Shine’s Carl Fennessy and Paul Franklin. As TEN’s chief programming officer David Mott told Mediaweek last night, he caught up with Shine Australia’s joint CEOs, Mark and Carl Fennessy on the first day they were in business in January 2010, to discuss the idea.
