It's a INXS special this week:

Mediaweek Podcast 71/2014
INXS part 1: Andrew, Tim, Jon and Kirk

During a day of media interviews at Universal Music, Mediaweek's James Manning and Brenden Wood managed to get access to the band just before they were given quadruple platinum plaques celebrating their success this year as the biggest-selling Australian artist. The three Farriss brothers and Kirk Pengilly talked about their involvement with the Seven/Shine miniseries INXS: Never Tear Us Apart and what it did for the band and their catalog this year. Each of the members talks about their life in music now and Brenden Wood gets them to talk about their favourite INXS gig of all time – and they each choose a different performance.

INXS part 2: Manager Chris Murphy

We initially had just 20 minutes to spend with the legendary manager of INXS, but we ended up staying with Chris Murphy for just under 45 minutes as he talked about everything from helping the band with their initial investments when they started to earn big money, his work with Seven and Shine on the miniseries through to having to get the music world interested again in the INXS catalog when he returned to manage them. Murphy also mentions his family life and even his new organic egg business. There is plenty of fruity language, music business insights and plenty of laughs too.

marie claire returns to bigger format

marie claire will celebrate its 200th issue (on sale Wednesday 7 March), with the reveal of an ongoing larger book size, a refreshed new look and two collector edition foil covers in alternate gold and magenta colours.
The 220mm x 297mm book size allows for larger, lusher, contemporary imagery and stunningly brings to life the photography in the magazine’s celebratory ‘Fashion Issue’.

Jackie Frank, editor/publisher marie claire comments: “After 16 years as Australia's number one fashion magazine, what better way for marie claire to mark the occasion of our 200th issue than by turning over the entire issue to all things fashion?
“From our cover - which celebrates the resurgence of the supermodels courtesy of cover girl, Claudia Schiffer - to our stunning fashion and beauty pages, and our compelling feature stories, this edition is a real celebration of the ever-changing fashion world.
“Our bigger format complements these changes perfectly. Magazines have always engaged with the reader in a unique way: a big part of the reader experience is the feel of luxury that each new issue evokes, and our re-sized pages reinforce this position.''
The magazine also benefits from new fonts and new styles. A new upfront trends page and large-scale fashion images scattered throughout upfront pages, reinforce the magazine's fashion focus from the very beginning of the book.
The 200th issue of marie claire will receive marketing support via TVCs on the Seven Network, a 32-page sampler inserted into FAMOUS magazine, a consumer promotion giving readers the chance to win one of 200 fashion must-haves, point of sale collateral and through the marie claire website and social media properties.
